I don't think this has anything to do with duplicate content.
I have a small website of 10 pages, no duplicate content at all and the authorship has gone from some pages.
In fact it only remained connected to "About Us" page.
Perhaps Google is experimenting when to show it and when not.

I noticed I have the Authorship rel=author Markup ok but not the email verification done maybe they require that too ?

"Rich snippets" with photos and bylines aren't guaranteed, and they can come and go. Sometimes they'll disappear for one domain but continue displaying on others.

Maybe the issue I have is the fact that I am the author of my own website and this is the only place I publish something one. Could it be ?

No, it's not that.

G seem to be playing around with Rich Snippets and authorsip pics in the SERPS at the moment. One of our sites has lost almost all the Rich Snippets but has gained in authorship pics.
I'm more than happy at the moment because one of our authorsip pics is far better than Rich Snippets markup. They are definitely experimenting.
