Welcome to the forums, Tanmay - thanks for joining us.
|Google is refusing to index my new posts. |
Are the URLs not in the index at all? That is, what happens if your search on just the URL? I want to make sure we are talking about indexing and not ranking - two different steps.

The problem with both indexing and Ranking. The ranking dropped from no 1 to no 30 0r even more. Also the new posts are not being indexed...

Is the googlebot connecting to your site properly? I had a problem with new posts not being indexed, and I found some code in .htaccess that was blocking the googlebot.
It's a long shot, but I figured I'd mention it. Good luck.

Do you have a Google+ Account? I've found sharing new posts there helps too - write your new post, share on google + - check in a few hours to see if its indexed. I've had articles get indexed this way in less than 1/2 hour

My website is more than 3yrs old. So that is not the solution. There should be any problem with my site that is why Google is not indexing new posts. But I am unable to fix it. I wanted to know if my site could be affected by Penguine. But the date of traffic drop is 16th April 2013. As I know, there was no Penguine update on that day. My question is that is there any chance of being penguine effected on that day and the traffic drop is for the penguine penalties?

Penguin updates and demotions do not stop the indexing process. Wrong direction to look, IMO.

But I am sure there is some penalty with my site. The traffic dropped from daily 8k to 2k and it is decreasing gradually.
When I posts any new article, Google does (though it used to be within a minute)not index it quickly. After 5-6 days it shows the posts in the index list (I use site: operator to check it) but clicking on the "Cached" link shows 404 not found.
