Wouldn’t it be a good idea to help each other out by checking rankings on specific keywords from different computers and locations?

As we all know G is making the job very hard, with all the localisation, personalization so on...

Can we make a topic where members can post few keywords and other check them for the posters, or would that violate the TOS or even worse it would bring up hard discussion if a competitor get spotted?

(Feel free to delete the topic)

Please be nice to the volunteer moderators and don't post specific keywords which would would be against TOS.

We can still discuss whether this is a good idea or not.

The bottom line isn't rankings, but rather how much Google organic traffic is the site getting. In many cases you can check traffic for specific keywords as well as countries of origin. Traffic data includes the effects of all the factors such as personalization, different data centers, localization etc. and therefore gives a better overall measure of how the site is performing in the Google organic rankings than anything else.
