I made some big changes to my site at the end of July 2012, like installing a new site script and removing all affiliate links.
I sent the new reconsideration the first day of August and today after waiting 3 weeks I recieved the following message: Reconsideration request MyDomain: Manual spam action revoked
So for those that have a site penalized and are affiliate of one program, delete that links or make changes to be affiliate of more programs but with your OWN and ORIGINAL content.
Im still waiting to see ranking improves in the site, I think that I must wait 1 or 3 weeks to see postive results? anyone have ideas or experiences to share? I know that many updates had past in the last months and my site will not recieve the same amount of visits than august 2011, but I think that it will have better positions in the next days or weeks?
Thank you very much to all the people that help me, I will try to help and share my experience with other to lift their penalizations.
Congratulations, I think you did the right thing in the long run. From my experience, you may not have to wait as long as 1 to 3 weeks. It may come sooner, especially if you get some new links to the site.
Ironic - your site is no longer driving affiliate traffic and so it's welcome to be mentioned on the worlds biggest affiliate site, google, once again.
I do not think this is the reason why the penalty has been lifted - it is important not to jump to a conclusion.
This site was in WebmasterWorld Rewiew Forum (member section) some time ago. The site has now changed completely. Previously there were long paragraphs of text from each product scraped from affiliate site and slightly reworded (e.g. changing description from the 1st person to the 3rd person and slightly changing order of words in the sentence, but to a human very easily recognisable as duplicates).
Now these are gone and the site is using database driven back end instead with completely different approach to the product description (kind of like name/value pair for each product attribute).
Ranking "return" will depend on how new pages score as they will have to be completely re-evaluated by Google.
