The Disappearing Ranking: There one minute gone the next

So I have been working on a site for a while it has been optimised and it has performed reasonably well.

The homepeage is targeting the keyword" blue widget" and one minute it ranks on the first page, then it will disappear for a week or so and then all of a sudden a week later its back on the first page. This has happened probably 4 times now ie: in top 5 then not in top 100 then a week later in top 5 then not in top 100.?

What is happening?

What can i do to fix this?

Any help would be appreciated.

A few people have reported similar situation - my site did this as well - but not for a week. See this thread see if there's anything that might help?

Yep that's happening to me for several keywords I'm monitoring. No idea what's going on.

Be sure that you are searching depersonalized <Country> results in Google
