Contrary to many predictions and concerns, according to Comscore's new data, Google gained search share in September. So it looks like Instant Search is at least not a problem for many people. Also the Bing/Yahoo partnership has not, so far at least, helped Microsoft make further inroads into Google's share.

I changed my default se to bing and most of the time it's fine. It's improving each week. I can't say the same for google. I really tried to buy a product for my family online tonight and to my shock just like ive seen elsewhere the top spots were often spam. The #2 site in many searches was an mfa site. Before the news broke about google being hacked last year things seemed fine. Coincidence probably, but things have not been stable and the results seem to be full of spam sites when they used to stomp it out so quickly.
It's a sad day to me when the amount of spam in google is the same as the other two. I remember typing searches into google 12 months ago and thinking wow, that's such an impressive tool. Many times now I type in searches and think wow what in the hockey sticks! It's the little things like returning hacked sites that contain anchor text versus actual sites with the keywords I typed.
Anyway if I type a long tail phrase slowly I will get 3-5 sets of results and adwords ads. I'd be willing to bet at least 2 are counted
