"Re-inclusion request processed" response taking longer than normal?

 7:04 pm on Jan 7, 2010 (gmt 0)

I've submitted re-inclusion requests in the past and it took between 5-10 days to get the standard response that someone at google has looked at it. This time, I submitted one on the 19th and still haven't heard anything.

Should I be more patient because of the holidays? I don't want to jump the gun and submit a fresh one. I'm paranoid they might have ignored it.

It contained fresh information related to a penalty that I needed to pass on.

I'd say your assumption of a reduced work staff over the holidays is safe to make. You're right not to flood them with requests - I personally would give it a bit more time.

Been waiting about the same length of time. Just have to sit back and ... I was going to say relax, but ...

However, I've only ever had two responses to reinclusion requests out of dozens (I'm not a dodgy webmaster, I get attacked alot!) so assumed that some Goog employees are courtious and some are $%&* who just like to keep you in suspense ...

Could you kindly reply here if you get a response? I'll do the same!

My re-inclusion request response came through today. So they are still doing them. That must be some backlog!

Got mine yesterday... no change in traffic yet. I wonder if anyone has any insight on how quickly things can go back to normal after receiving this notification?

Mostly the traffic returns by the time you get the acknowledgement your request was looked at. They either looked at your request and did something or they decided not to.

However, Google seems to be in a strange period of technical upheaval, so past benchmarks may not apply right now.
