A lot of people expect something more stable (as well as different) on Monday when the Google staff is at full power. The past few days I've been seeing some short-lived blips where brand new domains with no backlink show up on page #1, but only for a few hours. In one case, it seems to be because of a large portal-like collection of outbound links.

I am having something wired happen today. My traffic is slightly lower however my affiliate clicks have nealry doubled. I mean I have more affiliate clicks then pageviews. Doesn't make much sense at all.

Slightly lower to what though? You need to compare to 2009 jan 2nd. It's also a Saturday. As for clicks that's possible if the person clicks more than once for each visit. Weird but possible, unless someone is trying to mess with you

Anyone else notice caffeine? I made so many changes to my site and got linked by a few major sites so I can't tell.

An almost simultanious PR and a SERP update!?! When did this ever happen? Caffeine around the corner [gulp]. Seems like the bods at the plex are cranking all the knobs and hitting the red buttons all at the same time!?!

I'm not sure if talking about SERP changes on Google (considering the personalized search feature that is turned on by default) makes a lot of sense now ;). Unless all posters have the personalized search feature turned off (still, I noticed Google resets this value, not sure if it's a bug, probably an 'intentional bug').

| I am not seeing a SERP change at all, just the regular 'Holiday is over' SERP that we are accustomed to seeing yearly.

mromero, all I've seen is spam PR puff pieces how some SEO know what caffeine is and how they can help us mortals. So far, nothing serious in SERPs with what I can see.

These Google Update threads are getting very confusing for me. I work with Google.co.uk checking it from a UK IP address and the changes never match/co-incide with most of the ones being listed in this thread. Can people please state: Google variant: e.g. Google.com, Google.in, Google.co.uk, Google.de etc. My IP Location: UK, US, CA, IN, DE Personalised Search: On/Off as what you see is not what everyone sees.
