Hey guys. Looking for your thoughts. Our site was doing great and all of a sudden Friday our 2 main search terms dissapeared into oblivian. Whatever happend it seems to be only effecting our main index page as all of the sub pages are coming up as normal. I have been monitoring this and it seems that any search terms that were tied to the main page we no longer come up for. This has cut our traffic in half. I did make a minor change on monday removing some internal links and have since reversed the change. I am not sure if this could have caused it. I am not sure how it could but if it did any idea how long before Google will notice the changes and nring our good serps back. if not any ideas? Don't think we lost any links or anything like that?

There are lots of possible causes, unfortunately, barretire. We can probably start by getting a clearer idea of the situation.
- How stable would you rate the page? The most important factors is the links coming into it. Lots and high quality means more stability - Is the page still in the index? Try the syntax id:www.example.com - Does the page still show prominently in a site: search? - Can you find the page searching for sentences of text?

I can find the page when searching for the name. I have done a site search and all pages are there so no deindexing appears to be going on. when using id:www.mysite.com the page does show up. I am trying to research if I lost any links but nothing I can see yet.. A first I though Google was doing an update but checking a variety of forums I check I am not seeing anything out of the ordinary. I guess time will tell.

I am beggining to think it has something to do with the changes going on with Google about to bring Caffeine live. The serps I am seeing today are the same serps from almost 2 months ago.. Time will tell.
