Does Google UK Show Different Results based on IP? jackgordon msg:3972288 10:22 pm on Aug 14, 2009 (gmt 0) Hi
I was wondering, does Google show different results based on IP address within the same country?
Eg, if someone in Birmingham (UK) see the same result as someone in London (UK) if they searched for the same query at the same time?

Simple answer! Does that mean my positions could be different even within the same country? Leosghost msg:3972319 11:44 pm on Aug 14, 2009 (gmt 0)

Absolutely, yes. Hissingsid msg:3972439 10:00 am on Aug 15, 2009 (gmt 0)
I can tell when a major network like BT is being served by a data center where my site is #1 for important terms, Conversions go up and confirmation emails come through in floods.
Most of the time most people in the UK get the same results but there are times when different networks get different results. Or at least this was true when we all used to discuss what was on the various data centers.

Thanks everyone, expecially Hissingsid for that detailed explanation.
