Disparity in Google webmaster tools

Hi,

Last week, in Google webmaster tools, my website used to show more than 4500 links pointing to the index page and other 126 pointing to the internal pages.

This week when I checked the Google webmaster tool dashboard for the same site, i found just 126 links under "Links to your site". The 4500 links to the index page is not being shown.

However, when i check my backlinks with the link: operator i see around 48 sites linking to the home page. This is roughly the same number of backlinks that were there a week before.

Has anybody faced a similar disparity in Google webmaster tools ?

Waiting for your comments.

Thanks,
Suvro

Yes, many people have mentioned it. When the WebmasterTools was changed over to the new look, the data was not at all the same. We're all sort of wondering what's up with that, but expecting things to calm down soon.
