|Webmaster Tools reports duplicates from Adwords query strings|
| 6:14 pm on Feb 11, 2009 (gmt 0)|
Lately I started seeing duplicate meta tags reported in Webmaster Tools although the page is actually a single one.
The reason is that URLs were picked from Google AdWords so they had the "gclid" variable applied.
I would think that Google would be smart enough to figure this.
Do you see this happening in your Webmaster Tools, if you're having any kind of query string attached (stuff after question mark)?
I haven't had such issues before, although I have been using AdWords for long and always had some kind of variables applied to the actual URL.

Yes, it sounds very odd. I work with sites that use Adwords and have never seen this happen. I wonder if somone else might have picked up that url somehow and used in a non-Adwords link.
