Interestingly enough the error message is now gone. Maybe at the time it was spidered there was an issue. My initial point though was to show that WMT is flagging load time issues with a warning.

Interesting. Page load times are always 0.2 to 0.6 seconds for a site I have been working on since last year. However, WMT Crawl Stats updated today, and the graph shows that sometime last week, and for one day only, page load times spiked above 2 seconds. I have no idea if that was a hosting problem, or a bottleneck at Google's end.

I saw the same error and it went away too. Probably G was testing a shorter load time and most servers couldn't handle it.

I also get this "error" message from time to time at various sites -- they always go away pretty quickly without me doing anything. So far I've just assumed it's a temporary glitch and nothing to worry about, but if it continued for any length of time (over a week), I'd look into it more thoroughly... ........................
