WMT link results not updating - is this new ?

 11:42 am on Jun 11, 2008 (gmt 0)

Interestingly – looking at our WMT link results, the last found dates seemed to be updated on a daily basis until June 1 – which is the last time the links were updated – so these haven’t been refreshed at all this month.

The same goes for other sites I checked with other folks – ie. Last found link date was May or early June – so whether these just don’t get updated in the tools until end of month or this is a new thing I am not sure.

Any ideas ?

I dunno, I've been watching it, and it doesn't seem like mine get updated even once a month. I see they were updated somewhere close to the beginning of this month, and two days ago my site links appeared again after being gone for two months (they're the old ones, but at least they're there) I'd be amazed if the links updated again before July sometime.

Once a month, once every couple of weeks, once every whenever, I've never been able to pin down any frequency pattern. Might be whenever G happens to have the resources to do it.

When the GWT backlink report updates, the newly added links show the date that Google last found them, not the date of the update.

Right, I go by the count, not the dates.

For a new site online a month or two ago, the link reports seem to to be updated about every three or four days, and they update the day after date for the the "we last visited your homepage on..." message changes.

Having said that it started at three days and has slipped to four, and if it doesn't update today, then it will have slipped again to five plus.
