After noticing today that a site just went down from PR5 to PR4, I looked at a brand new one that just went up the first week in March and it's showing PR3 on the homepage and also showing PR on interior pages. [edited by: tedster at 1:59 am (utc) on April 29, 2008]

Yes I am noticing a +1 on all my sites. Me wonders if it's just Google disabling the -1 thing it did a few PR updates ago.

If you can't see any PR anyplace, either update your toolbar or uninstall and re-install it.

Our main site went from pagerank 5 to 0 after we redesigned it a few months ago. Today it's still 0 but we are still indexed with over 85,500 pages showing in google. When we search site:domain.com Another important site had a complete overhaul and went from pagerank 4 to 0 after we redesigned it and imported a new database of nearly 50,000 businesses. It's a business directory. Some of the rankings fluctuate from being #1 to #5 for a few weeks to not even being found today within the top 300. I stopped looking after 300. However, this site shows over 31,000 pages in google when we search site:domain.com. Another of my domains on the first domain's same ip address has a page rank of 4. I have another domain that simply says "account not active" on the home page and it has a page rank of 3. I'm so confused. It looks like redesigning your site can get you penalized at least with pageranks. I NEED HELP.

Welcome to the forums, xealinc. Your questions go far beyond PR updates (which on their own do not affect ranking). You may find a lot of help in the Hot Topics [webmasterworld.com] section, which is always pinned to the top of this forum's index page. In particular, it sounds like you may have issues related to changing your url structure - new page names, and so on. Also our Site Search [webmasterworld.com] can help you find related information about your redesigns. [edited by: tedster at 6:53 pm (utc) on April 29, 2008]

A PR update is only an export of data to the toolbar. Any ranking changes due to shifts in PR were already happening -- because the "real" PR values were already being used in Google's calculations. Behind the scenes, Google is updating PR and other link-related factors continually, day-by-day-by-day, The fact that Google eventually exports a more recnt "snapshot" of that data to the toolbar has no present time effect on ranking. indias_next - if you mean the link: operator report, that's another "reporting-only" feature that has no effect on ranking. For more information, see the Hot Topics [webmasterworld.com], which is always pinned to the top of this forum's index page.

I got raped this time.... PR4 to PR2 on index. +_+ no idea why. subdirectories halved as well. not happy. Plus, seriously ridiculous sites, eg: one with flash doorway page and no text and blocked forums, shot to top of SERPs too. #*$!.

Last time there was a PR shift we (like many other sites in our sector) dropped a point. Today we got that one point back again. I know that they're not supposed to be connected, but, we seem to be doing better in the SERP's too.
