New in G search box - autocomplete including the number of results

 2:43 pm on Mar 20, 2008 (gmt 0)

On 1 machine here in the office, we are seeing that Google has a new "ajax" type thing that drops down. Kind of like the Yahoo thing where it has an auto-complete of what you are searching for. But the twist Google is doing is adding the number of results.

Anyone else see this?

The datacenter it is conecting to is but it is specific to the machine you use because I cant see it on my computer by comecting to that DC.

Are you talking about Google suggest?

(just start typing query)

Google suggest functionality has been around a long time. Based on your observations maybe they are testing it on more mainstream products outside G labs....

I checked a couple of phrases on that data center and then used a "normal" search for comparison - I see no differences here.

That auto-complete behavior sounds like Google's keyword suggest tool.

It is the suggest tool!

I guess they are rolling it out for the mainstream now.

I am seeing it on my searches this morning..... Interesting!

I saw it at home, but can't see it at work...so it's not rolled all the way out yet.
