Not many ... IBM, Microsoft, Google ... maybe a couple more.

I remember 9 years ago getting a site listed in Jade, one of the many search engines at the time. At that time the thought of one or two search engines becoming dominant was just not on the cards. In 9 years the internet world has turned on it's head.
Congrats to Google for coming out on top. Thinking back to how things have changed on the internet over the last 9 years makes me wonder where we will be in 9 years time. To me the last 5 years have had no major changes, the previous 4 years had all the changes. Is the burst of social networking sites the next great area of change for webmasters? I think not, something somewhere else is brewing which will take us all by suprise.
