Different results if you're logged in - can I turn this off?

I use google.com/ig as my homepage and today, for the first time in probably months, I logged out of IG when I let my friend check gmail from my comp. Well, not realizing I was logged out, I was seeing a lot of different SE Results on google, with my main site down lower in the ranks then when I was logged in...From 2nd spot to 6th spot. Is this something new? Can I turn it off so I can see what everyone else is seeing?

TIA,

Chip-

When logged in, you can turn Google's personalized search results off by adding &pws=0 to the URL of a search query.

Any chance to do this permanently? I looked through all the My Account links, but couldn't find anything. I will do a search with pws for some more help,

Thanks,

Use two browsers simultaneously but only log in on one

Firefox and Opera are both free :)
