uk index - site: is still broken wheelie34
A couple of weeks ago there was a thread about site: in the .co.uk index, it is still broken, even doing site:www.google.co.uk so its not just my sites.
Seems to just show a canonical mess, home pages not top, some not even found! supps all over the show.
Anyone any idea whats up?
I'm not seeing any problems. Can you elucidate? wheelie34
BDW, so if you do site:goog.com then goog.co.uk you see the same results?
I get perfect results for .com site: search but a total mess for the same search but with the uk only option, this is the first result
www.google.co.uk/products/reviews?fq=&cid=178da50754e4299a&sort=2&q=%22people+found%22&sa... - 20k - Supplemental Result
Ping google.com - 220.127.116.11
Ping google.co.uk - 18.104.22.168
EDIT: This is the same with Firefox or IE, logged in or logged out.
Yes, I see what you mean.
Using google.co.uk, select the "Pages from the UK" option, then try a site:www.google.co.uk search.
Using the default "the web" option returns normal results.
Would imagine it's just a bit of a screwy site operator, than anything that'd affect rankings.
Phew, I am not alone then, its been like this for around a month. RailMan
i think that thread was about a number of .uk sites disappearing from google - didn't matter if we did site: or not, the site had gone one of mine completely disappeared from google on 6th or 7th june, around same time as the other .uk sites disappeared
