Nameserver penalty - Is it possible?
98% of websites not ranking for domain.com keyword searches

I am going through an odd situation and was wondering if anyone has read or experienced this before.

So I started a reseller hosting website (shared) about 4 years ago. Mostly just to host my 5 websites to save on hosting costs. Overtime I have built up a client list of about 50 paying customers.

Recently I lost some really good rankings for my websites on Google and it affected ALL my personal sites and including my hosting domain. Certainly no spammy issues here. Not only did I lose my most popular keywords for ALL the websites, the homepage (index)doesnt display at the top of the results for a domain search like: "domain.com" which they all did before. The homepage is there, however, it's located at the bottom or so.

Been thinking about this for sometime and thinking to myself how could this happen to all of them. I don't cross link and one is even a non profit site for a small community? Something is wrong here...

A few moments ago I ran through all my 50 clients and their sites are experiencing the same issues. I go to Google, type in "theirdomain.com" - and 98% don't come up either!

Anyone seen anything like this before? Keep this in mind this is a shared hosting server with several resellers on it using the same IP but different nameserver names.

Have you heard of a penalty which affects all the websites associated with a certain nameserver?

Hope that makes sense and would love to get your feedback. thanks.

Likely its not a nameserver issue, its a technical issue you have with all sites.

Using a cms?

Using the same one?

What is the same with these sites?

link to your site?

got to be something, my money is on it nOT being a nameserver penalty

My site, which i don't host myself, is in the same situation. My homepage is not listed on top when i search for *ww.mysite.c*m since the August update and I try to find out why and for the moment I don't have a clue

This is a very new issue which happened during this google update.

All sites are basic html nothing special at all.

I havent checked the other websites on the server but that is my next issue.. but its just weird they all are doing it.

what about other domains that are hosted on the same ip address that do not belong to you?

Do they exhibit the same problem?

It is probably not a nameserver issue. However, if you wanted to do some experimenting you could always get someone else to do your dns.

BTW most of my sites have suffered the same problem. Can't figure it out either!
