Google Sitemaps performs PR prediction?
Anybody has seen this?

Today I was checking my site at Google Sitemap control panel and noticed that an internal page has become, on September, the page with the highest page rank in my site, replacing my PR6 homepage.

The strange thing is that this internal page is a tutorial I published about a month ago and has no page rank yet.

This tutorial has been featured for a couple of days in many blogs and tutorials directories homepages (as lots of other tutorials from other sites do as a daily basis).

Is it possible that Google has made a PR calculation by the time this tutorial was featured in those homepages and that's why it shows as the highest PR page at my site?

I don't believe this is something that important, but it is always interesting to know how things work. If what I'm stating is true (not a glitch in the system), then it might mean that PR is a snapshot of a very, very short time period and not a longer term calculation.

Sorry if I'm saying something obvious for experts, but I thought this was noteworthy to mention.

One factor here is that toolbar PR is only updated a few times in a year. But the REAL PR, the PR that Google is using on their backend for ranking calculations (along with scores of other factors) is being updated continually.
