I just lost all pages with content. They are now appearing as just the roor domain for my keywords.
Only pages in /certaindirectory/ have been affected. Unfortuantely, those pages are where i keep the articles.
Something happened between 2-5am EST. I went to sleep fine. Woke up at around 5 and all pages were gones. Still listed with site: but they are all now the very last ones.

Guys i'm back (actually my site) today where i was before 27 june.
Exactly same position for all keywords.
After terrible june 27 i come 2 weeks later that my site was completly banned from google (site:command nothing) and i did changed a lot on the site regarding coding (title, description, did it nofollow for all outgoing links etc...), requested to be reincluded through sitemaps and voila.
I;m back...I'm so happy and lets hope that it will stay as it supposed to be and as it is right now.

Could you please share what exactly got you banned in the first place? That might help some people out.
1:42 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
I'm back too! Everything as it was before June 27 and better including the site: working properly now.
I'm so excited.

fantastic to hear stories as yours, gives us hope. Please give us more detail as to why you think you might have been banned and what was your apparent soln?
Thanks and enjoy the re-birth!

can you please share what changes if any you made.
1:48 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
I personaly made no real changes to my site. I don't think it was a site ban of any kind. I think the only change was on googles side.

two of my Sites (high traffic sites) went down on June 27 (site: was mixed up, Traffic down to 1/10).
Today both are back again - both .de-Domains
I did not do nothing - just added some pages as usuall.
One .com domain went down today (not realy sure - low traffic site).
Good luck to all!

very similar to my situation.. hits down to about 1/100 tho. Very encouraging to hear that you have rebounded by making no changes which shows that it's all in google hands if they fix some algos and leave others alone.

Has anyone with a UK-based site seen a recovery from the June 27th problems today?
So far, I've only seen US and German sites mentioned.
2:04 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
It is very difficult to say what.
I have 5 years old site that was never affected until june 27 and because i cant sit and simple wait i did it a lot but again i'm not sure of it have something to do with reincluding or not.
Why i was banned? I still nol not have any clue why?
It could be because of outgoing links.I added exactly 2 extra outgoing links on every single page but if i can remember i did it 2 years a go exactly same without any problems (furthermore then i added 5 links that pointed to similair site).
Then some direct linking to a couple affiliates links are now only in one page with nofollow ofcourse.
Because i run a big forums and use archive it could happen also that G see it as same page as on the main forum.
Archive is cutted off version for quick browsing.
Then changing title and description on every page. Before i did used 2,3 titles and description for whole site..Also correcting so much possible good coding on main page and rest.
And as last removing of some linking to directories and changing with linking only to similair site with nofollow to prevent any confusion.
After all i think right now that this changes maybe has some effect but maybe not.
Exactly at monday (this week) i did send polite email with explaining what i did and what i thought that could be problem and today i did found that i;m back.
Maybe it was simple some kind of SE bug that my site was excluded, actually banned.
Because i didnt receive any mail about banning (usually they send you mail to let you know that your site is banned) and i could read all time inside sitemaps that position for higher keywords wasnt changed for last 3 weeks ad that was not so.
Anyway i do not know of this can help to someone but try to think, try to find any possible changes in last month that could make problems on your page and to be sure remove or change anything what you think that can make penalty to your site.
And i'm still excited about recovering and be back to top 10 after dissapering for a 1 month. Nice feeling.

I didn't really make any changes, I did go in a few days ago and get rid of some orphan files but I don't think Google would have had time yet to notice that.
I've perused the forums a little today and it looks like some sites who survived June 27 are now having trouble.
My guess is that Google fixed or changed their algorithm again and/or did the other data refresh that Matt Cutts predicted would happen this week.
Have hope everyone, it looks like things may be getting fixed.

I hope so!
Thanks for the encouragine words.. enjoy the re-birth guys and for sharing some of your advice.
2:36 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
Yes! Congrats! Ya'll are giving us hope. ;-)
One of my sites as affected too and it's in Dutch btw. The host is American though.
I am going to request a reinstallment too! I can't find what I may have done wrong either but I can ask anyway.

Traffic lost on June 27 appears to be bouncing back very nicely today. No changes made to the site since it got hit, just algo changes on G's end.
2:50 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
Another great story.. congrats!
Anyone here bouncing back or also hit on the infamous April 26th screw up? I was hit April 26th, then finished off June 27th..
2:53 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
Yep, I think it is clear that it is a change on G end that has resulted in some sites coming back - not all.
2:57 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
My site has come back to it's original rankings. The *only* thing I did was create a new page yesterday that got dugg by a few people and got about 80 hits. I hadn't done anything else to the site at all since Jun 27th. I'm glad to be back. Sadly, it's too late in the month to earn any substantial AdSense revenue. There's always next month though!
3:00 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
congrats lobo.. one month aint too bad considering I've lost 3 so far.
3:04 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
I guess I'm one of the only ones to report that my site hit hard on June 27 did not come back today. For those who have been through this before any chance that changes are still happening through these hours and that I still might have some hope? I'm not seeing any changes for my site across any DC that I know to look at.
3:07 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
You're not alone tflight, I am checking my hits hourly as well and will let you know if anything happens.
3:09 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
What country is your site based in?

My two sites are back, but supplementals which had returned on 27th are still not gone. The sword is still hanging by a supplemental thread :D
3:44 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
One of two of my main sites are back completely today. The other one is showing signs of improvement, but still lagging.
The site that has returned now shows up correctly for the site: command, while the other site shows up differently for the site: command that it did yesterday, but still not correctly. Maybe there is still hope it will come back.
4:18 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
..my site is not back yet either..I have noticed that some of my competition got hit today as well.
4:22 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
We are in the same boat.
Gone on Jun 27 and nothing yet...
site:mydomain.com does not show index on first place.
I am happy for all you guys that came back, but frustrated that mine still gone. :o(
By the way I am in Florida.
4:35 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
Good to hear that some of you are recovering your rankings.
Mine haven't recovered yet, in fact some of them have gotten worse as of this morning.
Also, site:www.mydomain.com search for me still shows two supplementals before my home page.
4:50 pm on Jul 27, 2006 (gmt 0)
My site came back too! it plummeted on june 27th, lost 90-95% of search acitivy... BUT I just saw it now i'm back. I posted a new topic for everyone who came back in rankings and wants to give a heads up.

I am back after dropping on June 27th. I bet Google lost a lot of revenue over the last month and reverted back to pre June 27th. I pray it stays. what a birthday present. Now I can get back out on the lake and enjoy the rest of my vacation.

Ok so it seems that many of those bombed on June 27th have returned, however, there are several of us who have gotten bombed today, July 27th.
