Today's Google Sitemaps current Indexing Summary reads:
"Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Aug 7, 2005."
Previous Summary had said "Jul 1, 2006."
Anybody else see a throwback like this?
Does this bring Sitemaps into the Search/Supplementals stuck-in-the-past problem? Time period's pretty much the same.
After the damage Sitemaps caused us with their robots.txt error, I've resisted submitting a sitemap file and have kept an eye on their reports.
I just don't believe MC's statement "a sitemap for your site should *never* hurt your domain". We are still suffering the effects of that robots.txt mistake.
I do believe one thing though. I believe the word "BETA" in the Google Sitemaps logo should be a lot darker that a 15% gray.
