I wouldn't mind so much if it was a Chrome exclusive, as that is my browser-of-choice these days, but to completely kill it off seems such a shame - it's a great default page for me (googlemail/weather/count-downs/calendar/to-do lists and a few rss feeds). Does anyone know why Google are doing this? Are there any viable alternative?

I have it open 24 hours a day with all my bookmarks (just under 100), exchange rates, stock quotes, etc. I'm really going to miss it. Especially bookmarks which Google Bookmarks as a standalone is a real pain because you can't list everything on 1 page like you can with iGoogle. If any Google bigwigs read this post please give this a second thought.
