Should Google be held accountable for sites in Top Rankings ?
I have noticed sites that have content on their home pages representing lets say Blue Widgets in for example position 1.
When entering the site and trying to access blue widgets there is actually no blue widgets. In fact the service represented doesn't even exist.
The site looks legit from the front but is basically a MFA which doesn't look like a MFA. Considering Google puts the Onus on us Webmasters and drives the message that we must provide quality content and good experience for the user.
Assuming that the top ranked sites undergo manual revues shouldn't those manual reviews involve taking a deeper look inside the site to ensure the content matches the claims ?
Why also does a search for certain keywords like "teen webcam chat" return pages of youtube results which are nothing more than exploitation hooks.
I was quite shocked when my teen daughter pointed this out to me.
Doesn't Google have a moral obligation over vested interests to favor it's own entities ?
