Google said Tuesday it will require users to allow the company to follow their activities across e-mail, search, YouTube and other services, a radical shift in strategy that is expected to invite greater scrutiny of its privacy and competitive practices.


The policy will take effect March 1 and will also impact Android mobile phone users, who are required to log in to Google accounts when they activate their phones.


I wonder if there is provision to allow people to return Android phones?

I find this article at [news.yahoo.com...] interesting on this subject because it has comments from regular internet users and not just webmasters.

So far, these comments don't seem to favor Google tracking their every move.

if it was me i would have tried to keep it as quiet as possible, because they're just drawing extra attention to their privacy issues.

Perhaps they are anticipating the publicity this will receive and they want to be able to say, "Don't say we did not warn you".

Google and Facebook are to greedy and are beginning to destroy the foundation their businesses are based on.

New privacy laws are being brought on the way and if they carry on like this surfing with AdBlock Plus turned on will not be the exception but the rule.
