Google Hires New CFO: Patrick Pichette
3:37 am on Jun 26, 2008 (gmt 0)
For a company that made its name in search, Google sure took its time finding a new chief financial officer, telecommunications executive Patrick Pichette.
Pichette succeeds George Reyes, who shepherded Google through its 2004 initial public offering and announced in August that he would leave the Internet giant.
The search is over: Google has a new CFO [latimesblogs.latimes.com]
"It took over a year to find George," he (Schmidt) added.
Said Google co-founder Larry Page: "We're picky."

What exactly do they look in hiring such a person? Must be more of a trust issue.

I think that the late George Carlin was right in his point regarding language and the way it seems to get more odd over time - VP, People Operations?
Make one wonder what the next fluffier term du jour for the function might be...

This is not a fluffier term du jour, but perhaps one more readily understood by some....
VP, Assimilating Human Species Into The Collective.
