I author and maintain several websites for rare cancer and pediatric cancer patients. They are supportive websites. I would like to develop recent news pages for each rare cancer type so that the people I am helping can find important info from PubMed and other sources. Because I am using multiple sources and would like to rotate the news items on a weekly (or possibly monthly) basis, I think it would be best for me to keep the news items in a mysql database.
Does anyone know open source or low cost programs that would allow me to:
1. Aggregate the rss (1 & 2) and possibly atom news articles from sites that offer them.
2. Save those items in a mysql database.
3. Publish them to php or html and replace them on a weekly or monthly basis with new items?
Thank you for any information you might be able to give me on any of these items.
Take Care, Sharon
