Conflicting opinion on RSS feeds at WW
I just need some clarification

I'm looking for some clarification on conflicting opinions I read here.

On one hand, fresh content is good so you should fetch widget related RSS feeds. But on the other hand, duplicate content is evil, and we must block googlebot from indexing your fetched RSS feeds.

I'm a bit confused on that one.

Also, I'm looking to implement a "daily text" script on one page. Not random text, but showing a new paragraph everyday for 1 month, then start from day 1 again.

Has anyone tried that with any success?

Fresh original content would probably be a better goal. Syndicating other people's content doesn't qualify.

fresh content is good
fetched content isn't really fresh

daily stuff is good but as opposed to using a 30/31 rotate you could probably just write new 365. The other thing is, if your content is never the same then how is anything going to ever rank?
