RSS is most often used for general news feeds and perhaps commercial services like Amazon. I'm interested to know about non-commercial feeds of scientific information that are available and that might be a bit surprising. WebmasterWorld doesn't allow specific URLs, so please don't post any, but perhaps a description and an authoritative source can be indicated.
As an example: I just discovered that the US Geological Survey has an RSS feed of worldwide earthquakes: you can select a region and a magnitude threshold, and it will deliver up-to-the-minute links to earthquake information as it comes in.
There must be other science and environment feeds out there. Wildlife reports? Unusual weather information (beyond what is available on standard weather sites)? Solar flares?
