That's not uncommon. I see plenty of sites doing this. Blog software can usually generate these for you. You just limit the output to one or more categories and you have your custom feed.

Sorry I didn't see your reply until now - I thought I had the notification thing set, but I guess not! I use worpress and I don't remember seeing that option but I will look around more. Thanks!
