Great question that I have as well. I am hoping this is one of the ways I might be able to get people to subscribe to my feeds.

Easy, this is a great site, pings all of them

That one works, but it only pings a few of them.

I have a list that's a lot longer (about 30+ places to ping) and am wondering essentially the same thing--is there a script out there that I can run?

The blog software I'm using doesn't allow me to ping when I update. So, I'm left to do it myself, perhaps through a script or a service like the site mentioned.

Calculus, please explain me more about pinging. Just like for blogs you have to go to pings.ws or pingomatic.com. Is there a script that I can run to ping or any such site where I just have to enter the URL & ping it.

I'm not able to understand this, can you explain me in more details on how to ping an RSS?

The best known free blog pinger is " Ping-O-Matic " (http://pingomatic.com) . It's very good and I have been using and recommending the service to blog pingers everywhere.

But pingomatic gives a very few places where you can ping but I have submitted my RSS to more than 200 sites. Do we need to run a script to submit again & if anybody can give me that script (php script or anything?)

Checked those two sites. Its BLOG pinging, not RSS feed ping.
Even pingomatic explicitely ask for not pinging RSS URL...
Are we getting off track in this thread.

How do you ping an RSS feed update remains unclear to me or I missed something?
