Microsoft to clean up search results
Cap tip to John Battelle

 6:18 pm on Mar 19, 2004 (gmt 0)

John Battelle has just posted on his Searchblog [battellemedia.com] about an email from MSFT PR detailing plans to announce a clean up of their SERPs.

Today MSN will announce that beginning July 1, MSN Search will clearly delineate paid ads from organic search results, with the result being that organic (or algorithmic) results will be above the fold (the top half of the page) for the first time since...well since recent memory.

Also on cnet.

My favorite quote:

"We've found that people spent more minutes with MSN Search, when we had algorithmic search results above the fold, 100 percent of the time."
