Even more blog spam vomit today. Scary how easily this engine is manipulated.

Yes -- I am seeing some movement -- can't see what they are doing tho...
| 8:34 pm on Feb 21, 2005 (gmt 0)|
Yes I have tried a few other searches and I do think we could call this a little update.

Yes I was in a #1 position for about 3 weeks for a 2 keyword phrase and mysite for those keywords is now at #6. Still first page though.

Steveb, you seem to be authorative on the topic. ;)

Yes, mysite has dropped a couple - under some 'same site multiple domain' seo/spam...
There has been a larger than usual mix-up on most pages I monitor.

Yes I can see some changes and some my sites have lost rankings. From top 5 in the first page to second page.

personaly i find the whole thing extraordinary...to hear all their pr about their great tech and all the novel approaches they are using, natrual language and the rest and to see what a search actually turns up...mind boggling to be honest...the only common factor i can see is the desire to serve different results to google...

I'm not sure what is going on with MSN. They still don't seem to have it right.
Specifically, I get referals to pages that point to the page with the information on it. Certainly the actual page with the information should rank higher, but it does not.

It sure looks like it. A site that hasn't been touched in ages or had any links just jumped by about 12 spots to #10 - only change was moving to a new host with a unique IP.
Oh, it was moved from hosting in Canada to the US.

Yep, it sure does happen. So what does that tell us? :)

They've done something right for me. hehehe Seriously, results for my stuff look better. I haven't moved anywhere.

They need to turn it back. A search for widget returns a bit over half a million results. #3 is "posted by widget" - an entry in a forum.

I think that something is going on. I am on a very competitive market. I was on the first page, now I am slipping each day couple of positions. I am on the 4th page now, the problem is that in front of me there are ONLY blog and forum spamming sites.
Its very easy to manipulate MSN now. Hope they will do something about blog and forum spamming.

Brett I will give you the honer to name the first real update.
| 10:35 pm on Feb 24, 2005 (gmt 0)|
Out of nearly 80 keyphrases I'm working on, all but a couple have stayed on the first page.
One that went from #7 to #16 was a page I modified the title on. Previously it was "Acme Hammers. Acme Mallets. Acme Rubber Mallets. Find Acme Hammers At MySite.com." I removed the "Find Acme Hammers At MySite.com," and a couple of days later it dropped.
The other one that dropped was one I didn't touch. It went from #6 to #61. I have no idea why.
I'm hoping that there aren't further changes. With Google having "disappeared" my site, I don't need any more problems.

Is it me, or is MSN running REAL slow on updating cache, revisiting index pages? I was getting daily updates. Still rank well, but my last cache is from 10 days ago.
