Funny that, I was about to start the same thread. Yep it does appear that the free submit has gone, they tried this several years ago and they fell flat on their faces, soooo just wait. Annoying though isnt it?

Was this the only way to submit your site to MSN's search engine/directory, or are there still other ways?

It didn't do anything. It submitted to Inktomi, which no longer exists.

I do not know if it works.. In the new [techpreview.search.msn.com...] if you are not satisfied with the results you can fill in the feedback form and write that you did not find a relevant URL.... [support.msn.com...] Personally I think that "free" is a banned word in the MS dictionary....

It will be interesting to see how MSN deals with the submission portion of the new search they will be launching. I suspect that it will be free, as this is what Google and Yahoo both do, and to not offer a free submission limits the potential size of their index. But who knows... Have to wait and see...

It will be quite hilarious if MSN tries to compete with Google by only indexing sites that pay for inclusion. Guess we'll soon find out whether we should start laughing.
