On the Froogle website all that is on there is.

The data feed will need to be in a tab-delimited file; we will send you a more detailed description. You will be able to upload it daily, weekly, or monthly.

What about every hour.... I have products that change price every 20 min at some points.... Anyone know about this.... I would to have my server update my feed every hour.... I have a script that will make the feed and do the updates but I just want to make sute that I can do it when ever it is needed!

You need to wait several hours before writing over the feed.

From the Foogle Data feed instructions:

You cannot overwrite your own file for a short period after you upload a file, so you should wait a few hours before attempting to send in a new file.

Froogle does say that sending more than one data-feed a day might be rejected. I have not had a problem with that. I agree with pmac, it does take normally several hours for the updates to occur. Oh by the way, if you drop a particular product or service, that is, not include it in your next data-feed, it may take several days to go away (if not more). Keep that in mind as consumers do not like "file not found" errors if you have removed pages.

Thanks

So to make a long story short every 4 hours should be ok....

Can't say for sure. I have not tried any more than two a day. In my particular case no more were required. Might be worth trying, though.

I believe Froogle takes 24 hours or so to update.

mcavic, I tend to agree. I tried to upload a feed file slightly less than 24 hours and it got rejected. Just to be safe, I'm setting my cron job to activate every 48 hours.

Froogle does update every 24 hours, i guess this may be go longer in future.

The ftp allow us to upload once and you can not retry/overwrite until few hours. We can udpate again only when the file is moved by froogle system to other processing area.

Cheers

How do you know if a feed is rejected? I submitted one a couple of days ago and I still haven't recieved an email telling me if it was accepted or not. Any ideas? Also what would be a reason for a feed to get rejected?

They will email you and let you know either way. it could be rejected for a number of reasons, improper formatting, feed details don't match content on page, affiliate site and so on.

Thanks for the quick reply pmac. How long does it usually take to get an email?
