Froogle Stores.... Is this a bad idea for Google...? Captain msg:1530500 5:14 pm on May 15, 2003 (gmt 0) Notice frooglestore.com is registered by Google. Think they plan on competing with with Yahoo! Stores?
I am not sure if this is a good idea... users may loose confidence in their algo... knowing it is tweaked to favor their store clients?
What does everyone else thing?

I wouldn't read too much into Google registering a domain. They are probably doing it to stop someone else from registering it or it might not be for the reason you suspect.
I'm not going to judge until I see a site go up.

I was not stating that Google plans on competing with Yahoo!
I was curious if Google did launch a competing service (how members of this forum) think users would react...

Depends how well Google did it. If they were expensive, slow to deliver, poor quality, etc, it would not stand much chance.... ...mind you, several stores in the UK seem to get success that way :) George
