Froogle Data Feed
Any good software to assist in submission?

Is anyone aware of any GOOD software for Froogle data feed submission? I come from a marketing/sales background so I really need my hand held to do this. Even the words "data feed" send shivers down my spine.

I am interested in sending a data feed to Froogle with a couple hundred products to "test the waters." Assuming that Froogle will eventually thrive and our test products do well, I could potentially find myself submitting thousands of products to Froogle.

Thank you in advance for your help!

BTW-This is my 1st post to WebMasterWorld. I have enjoyed reading the fabulous information posted here for the past couple of days, so glad I found you!

There is no software that I know of, but it really is not as hard as it sounds.

Data feed does sound pretty complicated but it sounds worse than it is. I got it right on my first try!

You basically format an excel file with headings they want and export it as a .txt file.

The .txt file is what you upload to their server.

You basically format an excel file...

Actually, you can use any text editor, even notepad.

We wrote a small application that would sit on our database and produce a formatted file, tab delimitated, that would be accessed by Froogle via ftp.

How you do it depends on how you keep track of your inventory to begin with. But for small inventories, Excel would work fine.

Froogle will even send you an 11 page "how to" Word doc when you sign up and are accepted to list your products. It will make the process simple for anyone using either Excel or any text editor.

There is software out there but only for if you use Miva Merchant. Find the top Miva module store and you will find the software.

Actually - there are a couple of tools - being the creator of Froogle Feeder, I wouldn't want to say if it's good or not - I'll leave that to you... tell me what you think.

:-)

Thanks,
-Mervyn
