| Froogle optimization? my very specific keyword isn't showing up |

msg:1530660 | 11:06 pm on Apr 1, 2003 (gmt 0) | So my Froogle data feed was finally accepted. The listings, however - were quite surprising. In the first page of results, only one of my products was listed on the page for a rather specific keyword. About 5 products listed above mine didn't even have the 2-word phrase at ALL in the description. What gives? Does Froogle look at the referring url for the product and decide based upon that, or strictly on the description you specify in the datafeed? I've gone and optimized my previously unoptimized product pages, so we'll see if that helps any. -Neil

msg:1530661 | 7:32 am on Apr 2, 2003 (gmt 0) | Update: A simple change in the 'name' of the product to the exact 2-keyword phrase has put one of my -other- products on the front page. However, about 5 other products are still listed above mine that don't even contain the 2-keyword phrase. Who konws - I've gone and changed the linked page itself to see if this helps - I'll keep you guys updated. Thank goodness freshbot updates faster than google's deepcrawl! -Neil

msg:1530663 | 6:21 pm on Apr 2, 2003 (gmt 0) | Well, I simply submitted a data-feed. For the longest time I never got listed until I finally emailed them for some help - turned out my tab-delimited file wasn't formatted quite right so I got that fixed. Once it was fixed - my products were listed in less than 2 days. Another note: I updated my data feed after seeing my results and it updated within a day. Quite nice. Current Status: Search for "Product Name" (2 words, fairly specific) I am ranked #8 #'s 1,4,5 are real competitors who beat me out #'s 2,3,6,7 have only ONE of the 2 words from the keyword phrase in them (or both words, but not right together). Very annoying. It seems froogle doesn't look at phrases properly or something. Also, My products were not placed into categories at all - I've heard of other users complaining about this. Any tips? -Neil

msg:1530665 | 6:27 pm on Apr 3, 2003 (gmt 0) | UPDATE: I have linked my products to new static pages that are FAR more keyword-targeted. (title tags, H1's, alt tags, etc). Absolutely no change in my Froogle ranking for now. It may just take some time before Froogle intelligently lists the products. Maybe I'm missing something?
