Datafeed disapproved

I was once successfully using Froogle. I would upload my datafeed each month to the hedwig ftp server, the products would get posted and I would get some traffic from Froogle. Well, the Froogle site seemed to have been wiped clean and my FTP account and Merchant page no longer work. Alot of my competitor are not even listed in Froogle.

Having said this, I hear that GoogleBase is the new invention to handle all datafeeds. When you upload your GoogleBase formated datafeed to Googlebase, the products will get listed on both Googlebase and Froogle. Ok, this is all nice and handy.

My problem is that I have been trying for months to successfully have the products I was successully listing on Froogle get Approved on GoogleBase. The upload work and suceeds per the Googlebase upload page. The product listing get approved, then 24 hours later, they get disapproved. I have contacted Googlebase and received response. None of which address why the items were disapproved. One response did say it was their mistake. Ok, it is all beta, so I try again. Same thing, all get disapproved.

I do see products listed in Googlebase and Froogle and am wonering if anyone has a successful datafeed going to Google base and the products being successfully listed. I went over their terms of service, data feed formats, etc. And have no clue as to what the aloof Googlebase wants from me.

I want to give it one more try before I punt.

Also, any suggestions on other type merchant sites to consider besides Froogle? I use eBay already.

thanks.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld janoss!

Can you no longer even login to the merchant center?

Feeds usually expire after 30 days if you do not upload a fresh feed.

I can log into the Froogle merchant center but for the past 2 months it started to ask me to setup an FTP account. I already had this setup prior to Christmas and used it monthly to update my datafeed. I can not create a new data feed since when I enter in my site url, Froogle barfs and says that url is already in use. I can still FTP to hedwig and move over my datafeed but I never see them get listed. It is almost like Google stopped maintaining Froogle. This is why I started trying to use GoogleBase to upload my products. Now GoogleBase disapproves everyhting. Not sure what the secret is here.

Just thought I'd ask for recommendations.

Another thing with Google Base is that if I list single items the listing show up right away and ranked in the top few pages. If I upload in bulk I can't even find the listings.

A few months ago I would get many referrals from the listings and now I see very few. I really don't think google base is getting alot of traffic other than those listing ads.

It was my understanding that submitting your products through GoogleBase would automatically get them listed in Froogle.

It is too confusing as to what Google is doing with GoogleBase and Froogle. I liked that they are free, but since they do not work. I will keep using eBay.
