Froogle Feeds to Google Base

Hey all, I just wanted to post some tidbits on Froogle to Base if anyone was attempting too.

Base mentions that uploads may qualify to be on Froogle. Well I wanted to try it out. Currently I am uploading to both but something I found that may help those who are going to.

It talks of the format for the .txt CSV file to be uploaded and has a list of 'REQUIRED' field titles that they request, which some ARE different than the standard Froogle format. However I sure did not want to have to rework a prepared file for BASE when I have one for Froogle, so as a test I just uploaded my current Froogle formatted file to BASE. It worked with no errors.

So in short, just upload your current Froogle formatted files to BASE and they will work, you will NOT have to change over the required Fields as BASE states.

Just wanted to pass it along.

Cheers
Mike

When you upload a Froogle feed to Base, make sure you use the tab delimited format. Froogle also accepts a pipe seperated format and Base doesn't.

I tried doing this, but while the feed was accepted without errors, none of the items are active. It was only when I used the Base-specific schema that any of our items came to life.
