Am I imagining things?

I'm confused. Froogle DID come out of beta-test a couple of weeks ago didn't it? And Google WAS displaying Froogle links at the top of searches, wasn't it?

So how come Froogle is now back in beta-test, returns look as though they come from old feeds, and the Google returns have gone?

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Nope, Froogle is still in Beta (or pampers) and what we saw just before Christmas was some toilet training which we are yet to see the results of.

When they were showing the link to froogle on the search page and at the bottom of the SERPS i saw a big increase in referrals from froogle but now its only about 10 or 20 a day.

Since then all i have seen is froogle added to the toolbar.

So i just keep submitting hoping soon they will do something with it again and start actively promoting Froogle, but at least we are in it at the start which can't be a bad thing.

I do not think froogle will come out of beta until the results improve. Take a good look, you will see very poor results using froogle.

So, spending too much effort at this time is not wise. Just my opinion of course.

You don't need to. It takes very little effort to get decent results from Froogle. A properly formatted feed can easily put you above the fold of the regular serps with just a wee bit of elbow grease. :)
