You could help Slurp along by remaking the page, then submitting it for inclusion. Slurp will certainly find it. Eventually... ;)

That might work, but I just hate giving any more money when it's so hit and miss with them. I'm still waiting for my index to show up on their results.

Well blow me down, I was looking all over for a free submission tool. Didn't think it existed. Thank you! Oops, spoke too soon (though I do still thank you). The form leads to a 404. Sigh.

Works for me... Just submitted a site map I've been meaning to submit. You did "fix" the URL didn't you? Replace the "*" with a ":"

I won't say "duh" :-), but I wouldn't have gotten to the page if I hadn't fixed the url. Very odd how it won't work for me. Maybe it's a sign-in thing. I guess I need to sign up first.

Looks like the deal is you need a bCentral account to use their submit page, but as far as I can tell, you can only get an account if you purchase a service from them. I'll keep rooting around there, but that's how it looks.

I think you need a .NET Passport account to submit. I had an old Hotmail account that evolved to including a .NET Passport.

I have a NetPassport, but then when I tried to sign in, it says "Your .NET Passport is valid but does not match an existing bCentral account". Is there a place to sign up just for bCentral without buying anything? I've cased out their site map and can't find a registration form for bCentral. Or maybe it just hates me.

I don't know. I suspect my old Hotmail account was "grandfathered" into .NET. Try Hotmail.com

Ah, Dave, you are such a sweetie to help me out. Alas, it's not to be. Very annoying because I've had a hotmail account for years but it won't accept that one, then I made a new passport, same thing. Oh well, at least Google loves me. Thanks again for your help (lucky *** :-) [edited by: eelixduppy at 9:36 pm (utc) on Feb. 18, 2009]

Sorry flobaby, I tried! All of my bookmarks to free Ink submits are history except bCentral. :( You could start at http*//www.inktomi.com/customers/index.html and see if someone still has an open door. If you find one, don't forget, we share around here! :)

Try a Lycos Insite sign up from http*//www.hotbot.com/. Click on Submit Site from the bottom menu to get started. Appears to be Free Site Submission available to registered users.

That's actually where I paid for inclusion to Inktomi. The free bit goes to Lycos (which I'm listed well on thanks to Fast), I don't have much hope for any Inktomi action through them since paying gave me zilch, but I went again and stuck my URL in anyway. Thanks Dave, you're a good guy for sure. Inktomi, on the other hand, sucks big ones. Bitter? Me? he he.

The link works fine, no hotmail account needed. Great tip, Dave. Just submiited a sitemap. We will see what happens.
