Could not connect: Got an unknown RCPT TO response: 550-Verification f Incoming and outgoing emails from my server doesnt work aff_dan msg:1498708 6:06 pm on Mar 16, 2006 (gmt 0) The server is not able to resolve yahoo.com or google.com or ping the domains. But the Ips of the domains are getting ping from the server without any issues. We have checked the nameserver entries in the resolv.conf file and other related files. The named service is running fine in the server. The issue seems to be a bit confusing.
Where could be the problem?

A 550 response can mean you have been blacklisted. Check some RBL lists for your IP. aff_dan msg:1498710 6:49 pm on Mar 16, 2006 (gmt 0)
it is not blacklisted:

Looking at your description, it seems to be a DNS lookup problem. Start the program nslookup and give the following commands: set debug yahoo.com set d2 yahoo.com
set debug and set d2 commands set the debug and verbose debug mode. You'll receive a detailed list of the query yahoo.com in both cases. This should tell you where the DNS query fails.
