Using onChange

I have a page on my site that I want to use a Dropdown menu so that the user can change what they see. This is what I want to do:

I have both new and used products on my site. I want the user to be able to select whether they want to view all of the items (both new and used) or just the new or just the used. I thought that using a <SELECT> with onChange would work the best, but I am unfamiliar with onChange. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. Also, if someone knows of a better way to achieve this that would be appreciated too. Thanks

What is supposed to happen when the user makes a selection in the <select> list?
