Random number / cache buster
Random number / cache buster

 12:38 pm on Jun 30, 2004 (gmt 0)

Hi there.
Through an affiliate network I am going to be linking to a mobile phone company. The network has provided me with banner code but wants me to add a random number or timestamp into the code to ensure the banners are not stored in the user's cache.

Can anyone give me the java script to do this -or offer advice. The pages the banners are displayed on are shtml so I could use SSI if need be, but cannot use PHP, ASP etc to do it.

Thank You

Sure that's easy enough.

First off, you'll be using javascript to grab his banner, and by adding a random number to the end of the url, that prevents caching.

Has a good script for random numbers
