So any ways i have about 200 Files that i want to set up on the internet to be abel to be searched by keyword. Is there a java script that will search them or something i can hook to a button easily... with out any SQl or anything im just not in the mood to write my own script So any free script sites would be appreciated.

Or is there a way to limit that cgi one that is every where to just search a specific folder and nothing beyond that or does it have to search the whole site?

Yes, you can search the files using JavaScript ..
And yes, you don't need *SQL ..
And yes, you can modify a Perl script to only search the files you specify ..

Now, if you would be a little more specific, maybe you can get some 'real' help ;)

What kind of files? And how big are they?
Plain text, or otherwise formatted?
Which CGI script are you talking about?
What kind of searches do you want to perform?

If you are wanting to make your files searchable on your site You could try the Fluid Dynamics search engine. It is a fairly easy to instal and configure search engine that allows you to set up regular spidering for your content... You can also specify other sites that you wish your users to be able to search. All in all it's a very easy solution for site search engine.
