Just find a us proxy and you can view it.
2:52 am on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
yes yes yes I know that :P
I can view the videos by pretending I'm american. That doesn't resolve my bitter disappointment with Nick for forsaking their foreign fans.

Itīs not just Dora
3:32 am on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
totally! I just saw that. Geo-filtering is the plague of the Internet!
though it is awfully nice for tracking ad traffic
1:48 pm on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
There are some things we can't view from America like those videos the bbc released.
7:55 pm on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
You know, I can't blame them. Nick Jr. get zero revenue from Canada, so why should they entertain us for free. Its just a business decision to reduce the load on their server and cut down on the bandwidth bill.
Not that I dont enjoy Dora and her backpack, and the fact my daughter knows a few spanish words.
7:58 pm on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
I went and checked it out (my daughter is a Dora fan too, lol) with my very-Canadian ISP and had no problems at all. Maybe they changed the settings to allow Canada, or removed the geotargeting?
<added>Canadians do get NickJr on the satellite services, so they are making money off Canadians. Not to mention the licensing to Treehouse TV and the couple other stations that show Dora (as well as Blues Clues and other NickJr produced shows). And all the DVDs we buy too ;)</added>
8:21 pm on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
Thats true, I forgot Treehouse uses a lot of Nick Jr. programming. I was assuming that Dora was produced by a company other than Nick Jr.
8:25 pm on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
What does Nick Jr. have against the 51st state?
9:14 pm on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
How dare you?
Don't make me come down there!
9:20 pm on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
I only count 49 states. That would make Canada the 50th. :)
9:29 pm on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
count again, lawman.
Alabama Alaska Arizona Arkansas California Canada Colorado Connecticut Delaware Florida Georgia Hawaii Idaho Illinois Indiana Iowa Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Maine Maryland Massachusetts Michigan Minnesota Mississippi Missouri Montana Nebraska Nevada New Hampshire New Jersey New Mexico New York North Carolina North Dakota Ohio Oklahoma Oregon Pennsylvania Rhode Island South Carolina South Dakota Tennessee Texas Utah Vermont Virginia Washington West Virginia Wisconsin Wyoming

Since when is New Mexico a state?
10:44 pm on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
Errrm ..far be it from me to intrude on a dispute between cousins ..but this New Mexico "state" site [state.nm.us] would be a scam then?
And to return to the OP ..
Dont know what Dora is ..but my son and I have n't been able to watch cow and chicken with the correct voices ..even via satellite since 5 years ..France banned the satellite transmission of "Sky" to "Us" ..so that a french TV company could sell what should be free programs ..cartoon network 24x7..and then they didn't bother using them ..more than 4 hours per day ..and then very badly translated
10:59 pm on Jan 18, 2006 (gmt 0)
Since when is New Mexico a state?
Heh. A lot of New Mexicans would proably be happy to be detached from the rest of the states.
Sorry about Dora. But Canadians still have Zoboomafoo, so all is not lost!
(Who can it be, this animal that I do see? Can you help me guess this mystery!)

Where I am we all think that is the name of the head of the Free Quebec party ;))

Old jungle saying perptrated by lawman (The Ghost Who Walks):
Canada is part of the United States but any place named New Mexico is not.

Those Yankees are gerrymandering again.
Noisy bloody neighbours.
If they didn't get lost trying to find Alaska they'd never know Canada existed.
We enjoy Dora the Explorer, they need her.

Is Dora from New Mexico?
6:37 pm on Jan 19, 2006 (gmt 0)
I always thought of the continental US as the 11th Canadian Province of New Saskatchewan...
6:47 pm on Jan 19, 2006 (gmt 0)
Even New Mexico?
10:10 pm on Jan 19, 2006 (gmt 0)
>>>Even New Mexico?
When we take over Lawman, we plan to sell New Mexico back to the Old Mexico, for beer money.
Think abou it, you can have color coded money, makes it a whole lot easier when you have had too many Molsons with your back bacon, eh.

I forgot..... Zoboomafoo rocks.

That's Blue, not Zaboo.
I'm laughing. Now I can see which people at WebmasterWorld have young kidlets and do morning cartoons before going in to work.
7:31 am on Jan 21, 2006 (gmt 0)
Funny, I just caught myself saying via IM to a fellow SEO with kids:
Jen says: oh maaaaan (said Swiper style)

>>That's Blue, not Zaboo.
You are probably right, I think they play them back to back.
The great thing about the little kid shows today, is that they are learning something while they watch.
Never understood the anti-tv for kids crowd. The quality is so much better today. For example, that Dora show teaching problem solving and a little spanish.
