Yikes. Sayonara ISU.
Good luck Texas. You'll need it.

Going to have to side with Brett, glad to see there is life outside webmasterworld :)

> too bad USC is going to demolish them
Be VERY careful, here. Brett's wife happens to be a Longhorn. (She's also a Gator and a Terrapin - man, she's funny looking.)

Wow, that puts the duck-billed platypus to shame!
In all honesty, I hope it's at least a close game. After staying up until 1245am last night with the Penn State vs. Florida State game, they've got a lot to live up to.
6:56 pm on Jan 4, 2006 (gmt 0)
Palease, after this game Texas will be bowing down to yet another BUSH, Reggie!

PS. The Orange Bowl Penn ST v Florida game was amazing.

Another Austinite and UT grad here,

Hell of a game last night - I thought Penn State would easily win.
I'm very excited for tonight's game. I'm betting BIG on the under (c'mon, they're not combining for 70 points!), and I'm also considering betting on Texas. Teams favored by 6.5 or more are 1-11 for the bowl games, so that doesn't bode well for USC. However, no other team is like USC and they can easily win by double digits, so I'll probably avoid betting on a winner.
Can't wait for the game.

I love all things Austin, go horns.
10:51 pm on Jan 4, 2006 (gmt 0)
Howdy from Austin, I'm off work in 9 minutes and heading home for the game;

I canna bring myself to cheer for my neighbors to the south. However, without causing too serious an amount of discomfort to my being, I am at peace with the notion that UT fans such as Brett and Hawkgirl deserve to end their night much happier than the typical USC fan.

... And the Longhorns are the National Champs. Way to go, Vince & gang!
5:30 am on Jan 5, 2006 (gmt 0)
WoooHOOOOO! YEAH Longhorns!
5:32 am on Jan 5, 2006 (gmt 0)
I didn't have a dog in this fight, but that was one exciting game. Congrats to the Longhorns.
5:55 am on Jan 5, 2006 (gmt 0)
I heard they're redoing the Heisman and giving it to Vince. It's going to be in the shape of somebody pitching the ball for a TD even though their knee is already on the ground...
All kidding aside, you just KNEW Vince would find a way to get the ball in the end zone when the defense stopped White on that 4th and short. There was no way anybody was going to keep him out of the end zone.

Whew! I'm getting too old for games like that.
What a nailbiter!
Couldn't believe the Trojans missed that 4th down with 2 minutes to go as that surely would have been the game. After that play, it was uh oh! for the Trojans. No way to stop Young.
Leinart didn't give Texas there due at the end, though. Said USC still better...

WOW! What a game!
2:42 pm on Jan 5, 2006 (gmt 0)
GO HORNS! Vince Young is my new hero. My friends and I couldn't believe how pumped up we were getting over Texas. Any other day they're at the bottom of our list.(GO LSU!)

>>> I'm betting BIG on the under (c'mon, they're not combining for 70 points!)
Wow, what a game, I am dead tired because I was so pumped up I could not fall asleep after that game. Proudly wearing my Longhorns sweatshirt today, and I am getting the horns signal whenever I walk through the shipping department.
Must have been a good party down on 6th street last night!
3:45 pm on Jan 5, 2006 (gmt 0)
Must say it was a bit weird for a day seeing the t.u. logo at the top of WebmasterWorld ... but like many other Aggies, for the moment all I can say is "Gig 'em, 'horns." Thrilled at the outcome.
4:08 pm on Jan 5, 2006 (gmt 0)
a fitting end to a whale of a game.
6:22 pm on Jan 5, 2006 (gmt 0)
they've got a lot to live up to.
Well, that was taken care of.
Remarkable game. I have to say I didn't think UT could pull it off. I should have known better after watching Vince dismantle my beloved Big Blue last year. And to think he'll be back next year... can Texas go back to back?
6:32 pm on Jan 5, 2006 (gmt 0)
Grats to the horns :) It was a great game.
8:19 pm on Jan 5, 2006 (gmt 0)
If I were the Houston Texans.... I've offer Vince 200 million to leave college early the ROI would be well worth it.
9:44 pm on Jan 5, 2006 (gmt 0)
I would take Vince over Bush after last nights perfomance. Can't believe he tried that lateral early in the game.
10:01 pm on Jan 5, 2006 (gmt 0)
Pete Carroll should have punted at 4th and 2 on that last drive - or at least had Reggie Bush in the game.
Favorite Keith Jackson moment:
-- Jackson: "Only 19 seconds to play ... clock didn't move on that play."
-- Fouts: "That's an extra point, it's probably not going to ...
