Gizmo Quiz: Saturday, 04 June 2005

Rules: First to guess (know?) what it is plus provide a link to image used wins and gets to host the GQ next Saturday.

To see the GIZMO in all its glory Click Here [saltspring.gulfislands.com].

The Gizmo is the pic on the left. The compass is to help you find your way;-) Obscure visual "hints" will replace the compass so hit reload/refresh occassionaly.

To see snide visual commentary Click Here [saltspring.gulfislands.com].

New foo-lish images will be provided as deemed necessary by your host (that's me) and may be viewed through the amazing technology of reloading/refreshing the page.

On your mark

Get set

GO GIZMO GO ...

Is it really really small?

Is the gizmo just the thing on the tip or the whole picture?

smaller than a microscope?

that's no answer - microscopic means can it only be SEEN with a microscope!

while you're at it - is it metal?

that's no answer: yes it certainly was. I may deserve a slap for it but it really was an answer ...

can it only be SEEN with a microscope: yes.

is it metal? Yes.

Another silly pic for the Gizmo Funny page. Reload now.

Note: there is unconfirmed gossip (originating here) that this is a pic of Macguru ...

Is it related to electronics? It involves electronics (what doesn't these days?) but electronics are not in the displayed Gizmo itself.

a closeup of the cantilever : hey that's what the bridge and brakes pics said ...

diamond stylus from a record player cartridge? No. The quiz continues ...

Does it have a medical purpose? Not directly. In some convoluted indirect "six degrees of sep" way perhaps but medical is likely a blind alley leading over a cliff to mix metaphors.

is it the read/write head for a hard disk drive? No. It is illiterate. Nothing to do with hard drives either.

Have added another hint to to Gizmo Quiz page. Reload.

As WebmasterWorld women apparently have a life on weekends I have added a "woman at comp" pic to Gizmo Funnies page so that they aren't left out.

Note: last "hint" image was misaligned. Corrected. Reload. Who knows, it might make a difference.
